They are not nearly as bulky as I thought they would be and are therefore not as "room filling" as I feared they might be. Although, you do need to be mindful of there placement. Take measurements before getting them to make sure they will fit. The sub was a little bit of a question mark as I read some reviews stating there were misleading power specifications by the manufacturer. I can hear 7.1 on a DVD of "The Matrix" -- the Blu-Ray would probably blow me out of the room. Multiple HDMI inputs plus other inputs make this a snap -- TV, cable and PS3/Blu-Ray on HDMI; DVD on RGB with optical cable for audio (and you can definitely see the difference from S-Video!) This unit still makes me smile after a couple months of daily usage. Movies are fantastic at home now. I matched the Onkyo up with a Sharp 52" LCD HDTV. I tested whether it was a grounding issue by using a 3-prong to 2-prong AC plug converter. This eliminated most of the hum. Not wanting to leave the system ungrounded, I purchased the Ebtech Hum X, plugged all of my components (cable box, receiver, subwoofer, Blu-ray player, HD TV) into a single surge protector and plugged it into the Hum X.
